The Maine Association of Mediators is pleased to offer a free Mediator Peer Support Group to members only on the following dates from 4:00-5:00pm:
These drop-in sessions are designed to create an on-line community of support, self-care, and mutual benefit with varied topics and forums including case presentation, discussion and resource sharing. Group members will help shape the agenda and decide on the frequency, meeting time, and duration of future meetings. Your input is invaluable, so please come prepared to share your thoughts on how we can make this support group as beneficial as possible.
Co-Hosts: Maureen Dillane and Karen Groat
Maureen Dillane specializes in Divorce and Family Mediation in Lincoln, Penobscot, Piscataquis and Waldo counties. She has a private practice as a Supervisor of Visitation and has served as Guardian ad Litem for over thirty years. She has a Masters Degree in Mental Health Therapy and Human Development and a minor in Sociology with a concentration in Law.
Karen Groat- Libra Professor of Mediation at University of Maine Augusta Justice Studies has over 20 years of mediation, consulting, and teaching experience. As former director of the Opportunity Alliance Family Mediation program and Family and Community Mediation, she has worked extensively with mediators, adults and youth, communities, and organizations specializing in complex family matters, multi-party disputes and workplace conflict. Karen combines research from neuroscience and trauma-informed care in her relational practice and enjoys collaborative learning to support pathways to include mentored experience in a variety of settings.
